German Families on a Swedish Summer Holiday

Request a child seat when you book rather than bringing your own from Germany — tell us the child's age (under 1 year, or 1 to 3 years) and the right seat is fitted before pickup. It's worth doing this even if you're used to bringing your own seat at home; it's one less bulky item to carry through the airport, and it's confirmed before you pay rather than left to be worked out at the kerb.

For children older than the seats we fit at booking, plan around whatever your own family's approach normally is — we don't promise booster seats for older children, so if that matters for your family, it's worth bringing your own for that age group.

A family heading on to a cabin for one or two weeks typically brings more than a city-break amount of luggage — full suitcases, sometimes bikes or extra gear if the cabin stay includes outdoor activities. Tell us what you're bringing when you book so we can confirm a vehicle category with the right combined luggage budget for the whole family and everything they've packed.

If your holiday starts with a night or two in the city before heading on to a cabin, book the arrival leg to your Stockholm accommodation as normal, and treat the onward trip to the cabin as its own separate journey if it falls outside the immediate Stockholm and Uppsala service area, or as a point-to-point booking if it's within it.

A first night in the city after a long journey with children is usually easier with as few moving parts as possible — knowing the pickup is already arranged, the flight tracked, and the address confirmed means arrival day can be about getting everyone settled rather than logistics, which matters more with tired kids than it would travelling alone.
