Sweden is a genuinely large country, and it's a surprisingly common mistake for international visitors to book flights and hotels in Stockholm for an event that's actually taking place somewhere else — Gothenburg, Malmö, or another city entirely. If you're not familiar with Swedish geography, event listings that simply say "Sweden" can be misleading, and the cost of getting it wrong is real: a flight into the wrong city and a hotel in the wrong place.
This guide is a straightforward check before you book: confirm the actual venue city, and know that our own service is honest about where it does and doesn't reach.
Why the confusion happens
Event marketing sometimes names the country rather than the specific city, especially for international audiences less familiar with Swedish geography, and Stockholm — being the capital and best known internationally — is an easy default assumption even when the event is actually held elsewhere. Gothenburg in particular hosts a large number of major conferences, trade fairs and concerts that get mistakenly assumed to be in Stockholm.

The event's own official website or ticketing page will state the specific venue and its city — worth checking directly rather than relying on secondary listings or social media posts, which sometimes drop the city detail. If the venue name alone doesn't tell you the city, a quick search for the venue's address settles it before you commit to flights and a hotel.

If your event turns out to be in Gothenburg, Malmö or another city, we genuinely can't help with that leg, and we'd rather tell you plainly now than have you discover it after booking.
