Terminal 4 Domestic Departures: Drop-Off and Fast Bag-Drop

Confirm your terminal on your boarding pass or with your airline before you travel — domestic routes are typically handled from Terminal 4, but airlines are periodically reassigned between terminals, so check rather than assume. Once you know the terminal, tell us when you book so the driver heads there directly.

There's no passport control step for a domestic flight, and security tends to move faster outside the busiest hours, which is why the airport portion of a domestic trip is usually shorter than the equivalent international one. That doesn't mean cutting it fine — flights still close boarding on schedule — but it does mean you're not planning for the extra steps an international departure adds.

Work back from your flight's boarding close time, add margin for the drive and the drop-off, and a shorter buffer for the airport steps than you'd use for an international flight. The fixed price and route are shown before you book, so once your pickup time is set, that part of the morning is settled.

Some domestic Arlanda flights are the first leg of a longer trip, connecting onward to an international departure — if that's your situation, plan your pickup and margin around the international leg's requirements, not the domestic one, since the connecting flight is what sets the stricter timing. Check with your airline how the connection itself works, since domestic-to-international connections sometimes involve a second security check or a different terminal for the onward flight.

Domestic routes have their own peak periods — early weekday mornings and Friday or Sunday evenings tend to be busier with business travellers commuting between Swedish cities. Even with the generally shorter margin a domestic flight needs, it's worth allowing a bit more time during those peaks than you would for an off-peak domestic departure.
