A lot of families closing up a summer house are working to the same calendar — the school return date — which means departures cluster into the same narrow window. That's worth knowing if you're one of them: booking ahead of that rush, rather than assuming a car will be easy to arrange at short notice in the final days, is the more reliable approach.

Every vehicle category has a combined luggage budget (a large case is two units, a cabin bag one) plus a cap on large cases — a standard car takes at most four pieces, no more than two of them large. • Standard, Electric and Business: a 6-unit luggage budget for up to 4 passengers — at most 4 pieces, of which at most 2 large (2 large + 2 cabin, 1 large + 3 cabin, or 4 cabin)
• SUV / XL: a 10-unit budget (at most 4 large) for up to 6 passengers, usually the better fit for a full summer-house clearout
• Minibus: an 18-unit budget (at most 8 large) for up to 8 passengers, for the largest loads or two families travelling together

One extra bag that wasn't accounted for when you booked isn't a reason to cancel or scramble — mention it in the notes as soon as you realise, or contact us directly, and we'd rather move you to a bigger category — re-quoted for the larger car — than have something not fit on the day. It's a much steadier plan than discovering the shortfall once the car has already arrived.
