Adoptive Families Coming Home Through Arlanda

If your child is under three, a child seat can be requested when you book — tell us the age (under one, or one to three) and the right seat is fitted before you land, confirmed in advance rather than something you have to sort out at the kerb with a child who's already had a long day.

For an older child, be aware our bookable seats cover ages up to three; for a child older than that, Swedish law expects an appropriate restraint for their height and weight, and it's worth bringing your own booster if you're not certain the ordinary seat belt will fit them properly yet.

Your driver's name, phone number and licence plate arrive before pickup, so you're looking for a specific person and car rather than working out who's who in a crowded arrivals hall. That matters more than usual on a day when a new child is meeting the world outside the airport for the first time — you know exactly who to walk towards.

Because your pickup time follows your flight's actual landing rather than a fixed schedule, there's no pressure to rush through customs and immigration faster than a child needs — the car adjusts to whenever you actually come through, not the other way around.

The price is agreed and shown before you book, for the whole car — there's no negotiation, no surprise addition, nothing to work out standing in the terminal with a child in your arms. It's paid in advance, so the only thing left to do when you land is walk to the car.

If your journey continues beyond Arlanda — to a home elsewhere in Stockholm or the Uppsala region — that's simply where the fixed route ends; nothing about the process changes because the distance is longer or the day has been longer than most.
