Changing Your Pickup Time Before a Departure
Updated 3 min read
Plans shift — a meeting runs long, a flight gets moved by the airline, an evening changes shape and suddenly your pickup time needs to move with it. Changing a booking is straightforward, and it's worth understanding the difference between changing a time and cancelling one, since they're treated differently.
This guide covers how to change your pickup time, what actually counts as a change versus a cancellation, and how the 12-hour rule applies either way.

Changing the time on the same booking
Contact us as early as you can — support@forare.eu or by phone — with your booking reference and the new time you need, and we'll update it, subject to a car being available at the new time. This is different from cancelling and rebooking: it's the same booking, adjusted, and your driver details are updated to match once the new pickup time is confirmed.
If your booking is an airport arrival and your flight time itself has changed, you often don't need to do anything at all — flight tracking follows the actual landing time automatically, so that specific kind of change handles itself.
What counts as a change versus a cancellation
Moving your pickup time on the same trip — same date, same route, different time — is a change, not a cancellation, and it doesn't trigger any cancellation terms. Cancelling the booking entirely, with no replacement pickup, is a genuine cancellation, and that's where the 12-hour rule applies: free and refunded in full if it's more than 12 hours before your original pickup time, handled case by case if it's closer than that.
Changing the evening before, or the morning of
A change made the evening before a departure, even close to the 12-hour mark, is still just a change if you're keeping the trip and moving the time — the 12-hour rule is specifically about cancelling, not adjusting. Contact us as early as you know your plans have shifted, and we'll do what we can, though availability at very short notice for a new time isn't guaranteed the way it is with more lead time.
Why contacting us directly matters here
Changing a time isn't something to work out by re-booking a second trip and hoping the first one cancels itself — that risks confusion on both sides and isn't how it's handled. A quick message or call with your booking reference lets us adjust the one booking cleanly, keep your driver details accurate for the new time, and avoid any mix-up between an old pickup time and a new one.

Questions people ask before booking
How do I change my pickup time?
Contact us with your booking reference and the new time — support@forare.eu or by phone. We update the same booking, subject to a car being available at the new time.
Is changing my pickup time the same as cancelling?
No — moving the time on the same trip is a change, not a cancellation, and doesn't trigger any cancellation terms.
What's the 12-hour rule and does it apply to changing a time?
The 12-hour rule applies to cancelling a booking outright: free and refunded in full more than 12 hours before pickup. Simply changing the time isn't a cancellation, so it doesn't fall under this rule.
Do I need to change anything if my flight time itself moves?
Usually not — flight tracking follows your flight's actual landing time automatically on an airport arrival, so that kind of change handles itself without you contacting us.
Can I change my pickup time the evening before departure?
Yes — contact us as soon as you know. It's still a change, not a cancellation, though availability at very short notice depends on the new time you need.
