The moment you realise, call the driver on the number you were sent — not the general support line first, the driver directly, since they're the one who can actually turn the car around or pull over. Every minute spent deciding is a minute added to whatever you do next, whether that's going back or working out an alternative.

Turning back means retracing the whole route both ways plus the time to get the passport, which for most addresses in the service area easily adds the better part of an hour to the trip. Weigh that honestly against your check-in deadline: if there's genuinely no way to complete the round trip and still make check-in, turning back doesn't help you and it's worth considering whether the flight itself is realistic any more.

If there's enough margin, tell the driver clearly that you need to go back for a specific item and confirm the address again — don't assume they've understood exactly what's needed without you saying so directly.

A forgotten passport is not a fault in the ride itself — the car and driver are still doing the job you booked them for, just on an altered route. If you decide not to travel at all because of the missed flight, that falls under our standard cancellation terms based on how much notice you're giving before the original pickup time — the earlier you tell us, the more options are open.

The simplest fix is putting your passport with your boarding pass or phone the night before, somewhere you'll physically hold before leaving the house — not in a bag that gets packed early and never rechecked. If you're travelling with family, agree who's responsible for checking everyone's documents before the car arrives, rather than assuming it's been done.
