Discovering a passport is missing days — or worse, hours — before a flight is one of the more stressful things that can happen while preparing to travel. The process to fix it is well established in Sweden, but it takes real time, which usually means your original flight isn't realistic any more and the ride you'd booked needs to move with it.
This walks through the practical sequence: reporting the loss, getting emergency travel documents if you need them, and adjusting your booking around the delay.

Report it first
If your passport is lost or stolen, report it to the police as soon as you realise — Polisen's own guidance covers how to file a report for a lost or stolen ID document, and that report is generally a prerequisite for getting an emergency replacement. This isn't something we can advise on directly, but it's the first and most time-sensitive step, so start it immediately rather than after exploring other options first.
Emergency passports and travel documents
Depending on your nationality, an emergency passport or equivalent travel document may be available through your country's embassy or consulate in Sweden, sometimes turned around quickly if the situation is genuinely urgent. Contact your own country's diplomatic mission directly for what's available and how fast it can be issued — the process and turnaround time vary significantly by country, and it's not something we're in a position to advise on.
Being realistic about your original flight
Once you know roughly how long the replacement process will take, be honest with yourself about whether your original flight is still achievable. In many cases it won't be, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you can start rebooking the flight and the ride around a realistic new timeline instead of holding onto a departure time that's already slipping away from you.

Contact us as soon as you know your flight is moving — cancelling the original booking more than 12 hours before its pickup time is free and refunded in full, and if you're inside that window, contact us as soon as you can and we'll do what we can. Once you have a new flight time, book a fresh ride for it rather than trying to stretch the old booking to fit a schedule it wasn't made for.
