Flying with Your Own Car Seat: The Ride to Arlanda

If you already own a car seat and you're bringing it on the flight anyway, using it for the ride to Arlanda as well can make sense — one seat, no unfamiliar equipment, and it's already sized to your child. The alternative is booking one of ours and leaving your own packed until you land. Either works; which is simpler depends on your specific trip.

Using your own seat
You're welcome to fit your own car seat for the ride to Arlanda — it's your equipment, and your child is already used to it, which some parents prefer over an unfamiliar seat for a short trip. Mention in your booking notes that you'll be bringing and fitting your own seat, so we know not to add one, and give yourself a few extra minutes at pickup to install it properly rather than rushing.
Booking one of ours instead
If you'd rather not deal with fitting your own seat right before a flight — or you're travelling light and don't want to carry it through the airport separately — book a child seat in the booking form. Tell us the child's age (under 1 year, or 1–3 years) and we fit the right seat before pickup, already installed when the car arrives.
This is often the simpler choice if your own car seat is bulky, if you're travelling with other luggage that's already a tight fit, or if you'd rather not manage installation yourself on a morning with a flight to catch.
What we can't promise
Our child seats currently cover ages 0–3; for an older child who needs a booster rather than a full car seat, bring your own — we can't promise a booster for older children isn't part of our current offering. If you're unsure which category your child falls into, mention their age in the booking notes and we'll confirm what's available before pickup.
Travelling with more than one child
If you have more than one car seat to fit — twins, or children close in age each needing their own seat — add both in the booking form with each child's age, and check that the vehicle category you're choosing has enough seats and space once both are installed. A Standard car fits most families with one or two car seats comfortably; a larger family or a bulkier combination of seats may need the extra room an SUV / XL provides.
What to expect at pickup
Whichever option you choose — your own seat or one of ours — the driver will be ready for it, since it's confirmed before pickup rather than a surprise at the kerb. If you're fitting your own seat, it's worth having it ready to hand rather than buried in checked luggage, so pickup doesn't turn into unpacking a bag on the pavement.
