The route between Vallentuna and Arlanda runs through smaller roads before it joins anything resembling a motorway, and those smaller roads are lower priority for snow clearance than the main approaches to the airport. A dusting that's barely noticeable on a cleared trunk road can leave a rural stretch genuinely slow going, particularly before the morning's first clearance pass has been through.
