Maritime Professionals Visiting Stockholm's Ports
Updated 3 min read
A trip from Arlanda to a vessel in port is a different kind of address problem than most business travel — you're heading to a quay, a berth number, or a gate at a working port, not a street address with a number on it. Ship agents, surveyors and superintendents dealing with this regularly know the drill; anyone doing it for the first time benefits from knowing how to book it properly.
This guide covers naming a port destination clearly, coordinating timing with a ship's agent, and getting the receipt handled correctly.

Naming the quay and gate
Enter the most specific destination you have — the port or terminal name, and the quay, berth or gate number if you know it — and use the notes field for anything else that helps the driver find the right access point, such as which vessel you're heading to or a contact name at the gate.
Coordinating with the ship's agent
If a ship's agent is handling access to the port on your behalf, it's worth confirming with them what the driver will need to get through the gate — some ports require prior notice or a name on a list for vehicle access. Passing that detail to us in your booking notes means it's accounted for before you're standing at a barrier.
Timing against a vessel's schedule, not a flight
Flight tracking still applies to your arrival at Arlanda the normal way, but once you're heading onward to a vessel, the timing that matters is the ship's own schedule — a berthing time, a sailing window — rather than anything at the airport. Book your pickup with that onward timing in mind, and use the notes field if there's a window you need to make.
Receipts for the visit
Choose the company receipt option at booking and enter your organisation's details — the receipt afterward shows the price and VAT line clearly, whether you're booking as an individual surveyor or on behalf of an agency handling several visits.
Booking the return leg back to the airport
Once your work on the vessel is done, book the return transfer to Arlanda the same way — pickup from the quay, timed against your onward flight — so the visit ends as cleanly organised as it started.

Questions people ask before booking
How do I book a transfer to a vessel rather than a street address?
Enter the port or terminal name as your destination, with the quay, berth or gate number if you know it, and use the notes field for anything else that helps the driver find the right access point.
Does the driver need prior notice to enter a working port?
Some ports do require prior notice or a name on an access list — confirm this with the ship's agent handling your visit and pass any requirement to us in your booking notes.
Is my pickup timed against my flight or against the ship's schedule?
Your arrival at Arlanda is tracked against your flight as normal; your onward pickup to the vessel should be booked against the ship's own schedule, which you can note when booking.
Can the receipt be made out to a shipping agency handling multiple visits?
Yes — choose the company receipt option and enter the agency's details, and each visit's receipt shows the price and VAT line accordingly.
What if I don't know the exact berth number when I book?
Enter what you know and add any missing detail in the notes as soon as you have it, or contact us to update the booking before your trip.
