Landing Late for a Morning Meeting: The Business Traveller's Night

A hotel booking made months earlier can quietly assume a daytime arrival unless you've told the hotel otherwise. If you're landing after 10 or 11pm, confirm directly with the hotel — by phone or through the booking platform — that a late check-in is guaranteed and the room won't be released to someone else. That's a hotel-side conversation, not something a transfer booking can solve, but it's the single biggest risk on a late night and worth ten minutes before you travel.

Because your pickup is tracked against your flight's actual landing time, a late-evening delay — more common on the last inbound flights of the day than on morning arrivals — doesn't leave you without transport at midnight. The driver's arrival follows wherever your flight actually lands, and there's no separate late-night booking or surcharge to worry about: the price you agreed before you flew is the price for the whole car, at any hour.

The receipt for the ride arrives after the trip, so there's nothing to collect or file at the kerb at midnight — you can deal with expense admin the next day, or the day after, once the meeting's done. If the trip is billed to your company, choose the company receipt option when you book, and that's the last thing you need to think about until you're back at a desk.

If the early meeting is itself the reason you flew in the night before rather than that morning, it's usually the better trade even with a short night — a landing that's gone wrong (a missed early flight, a queue at an unfamiliar airport) is a worse risk to a meeting than being tired. Book the arrival transfer for the previous evening and let the flight-tracked pickup take the timing pressure off that specific decision.
