Pushchairs, Prams and Travel Cots: Fitting Baby Kit in the Car

Every vehicle category has a combined luggage budget, where a large checked case counts as two units and a cabin bag counts as one. A folded travel-system pram or a double buggy is often bulkier than a large suitcase, even though it doesn't weigh the same — it's an awkward shape as much as a heavy one, and awkward shapes use boot space that a neat stack of cases wouldn't.

A travel cot, similarly, folds down but still takes real room. Neither is something the standard unit-counting fully captures, which is exactly why it's worth naming rather than assuming it'll simply fit alongside everything else.

This is exactly what the notes field is for; it isn't something you need to guess at or leave until pickup.

If it turns out a Standard car's boot won't comfortably take a pram plus your family's cases, moving up to SUV/XL or Minibus — both with meaningfully larger luggage budgets — usually solves it, and the price difference is shown clearly before you commit.

It happens — a pram gets swapped for a bigger one, or a second buggy joins the trip that wasn't planned when you booked. It isn't a reason to cancel or worry: contact us as soon as you realise, and we'd rather move you to a bigger category than have anyone stand at the kerb with luggage that won't go in.
