One ski bag, one pair of skis

A single padded ski bag with boots packed separately in a cabin bag fits into a Standard, Electric or Business car without much trouble — it lies diagonally across the boot floor, and the car's 6-unit luggage budget covers the bag plus a case and a boot bag for one traveller — the saloon categories take at most two large items and four pieces in all.

Two skiers, two bags

Two ski bags side by side, plus boot bags and ordinary luggage, is usually where a Standard car's boot starts to feel tight — it can work if the bags are single-pair and the rest of the luggage is modest, but it's worth naming both bags in your booking notes so we can confirm before pickup rather than find out at the kerb.

For two skiers with a double ski bag, or two single bags plus a full set of check-in luggage, the SUV/XL category's longer boot and 10-unit budget gives noticeably more room to work with.

A family or group with a full set of gear

Multiple ski bags, boot bags, helmets and ordinary suitcases for a family of four or more is what the Minibus category exists for — eight seats and an 18-unit luggage budget with enough floor length for several bags to lie flat rather than being folded or angled to fit.

What to note when you book

The length matters more than the label, so it's worth naming it specifically — "one 170cm ski bag" tells us more than "skis".
