Hotel Boats and Floating Hostels: Getting Dropped at the Quay

Several boats can be moored along the same stretch of quay, and the name of the quay alone doesn't tell a driver which specific vessel is yours. Give the boat's name exactly as your booking confirmation shows it, along with the quay, so the driver can identify the right gangway rather than guessing between two or three similar-looking boats moored nearby.

A car generally can't drive onto the quay itself right up to the boat — there's usually a short walk from where the car can legally stop to the gangway, sometimes over cobblestones or uneven paving depending on the quay. It's not a long distance, but it's worth knowing about in advance if you're travelling with a heavy case, since wheeled luggage doesn't always roll smoothly over older stone surfaces.

If you know you're bringing particularly heavy or awkward luggage, mention it in your booking notes — the driver can plan to stop as close as the quay allows.

The booking itself works the same as any other Stockholm pickup or drop-off: give the vessel name and quay as the address, and a fixed price applies to the route whether your destination is a conventional hotel or a boat moored at a city quay. There's no different pricing for a less conventional address.
