Strikes and Disruption at Arlanda: Keeping Your Pickup on Track
Updated 3 min read
Strikes, IT outages and other large-scale disruptions occasionally hit an airport or an airline, and when they do, a flight can be delayed, cancelled, rebooked onto a different service, or shifted by hours with little warning. None of that is something a transfer booking can prevent, but it doesn't need to add a second layer of stress on top of an already disrupted trip.
This is about what to actually watch for during a disruption, and the one thing that matters most from our side: keeping your flight number current.

What disruption typically changes
A strike or outage most often shows up as delays, and sometimes as flights being cancelled and passengers rebooked onto a later or different flight, occasionally with a different flight number entirely. Your airline is the source for what's actually happening to your specific booking — their app or website will have the current status faster and more accurately than any general advice here can.
Update your flight number when it changes
If your airline moves you to a different flight, the single most useful thing to do is update the flight number on your transfer booking to match. Flight tracking works from that number — a rebooked flight with a new number that we don't know about can't be tracked, but a flight we do know about is tracked automatically, delay or no delay.
An ordinary delay on the same flight number needs nothing from you at all; that's already covered by tracking. It's specifically a change in which flight you're actually on that needs an update.
If the disruption is severe
If your flight is cancelled outright and your travel plans shift significantly — a different day, a different arrival time well outside your original booking — contact us directly and we'll help adjust rather than leaving you to guess. Free cancellation more than 12 hours before pickup, refunded in full, also means there's no cost to cancelling and rebooking later once your new travel plan is confirmed.
- Check your airline's own channels for the current status of your specific flight
- Update the flight number on your transfer if you're moved to a different flight
- An ordinary delay on the same flight number is already handled automatically
- Contact us directly, or cancel free of charge, if your plans shift significantly
No surge, whatever's happening at the airport
A disrupted day at the airport is exactly when demand for transport spikes for everyone — that doesn't change your price. What you agreed when you booked is what you pay, regardless of how chaotic the terminal is that day.

Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to do anything if my flight is just delayed, not cancelled?
No — an ordinary delay on the same flight number is already tracked automatically, and the pickup time follows the actual landing.
What if my airline rebooks me onto a different flight?
Update the flight number on your transfer booking to match. Tracking works from that number, so we need to know the correct one.
Where do I check the current status of my flight during a strike?
Your airline's own app or website is the fastest, most accurate source for your specific flight's status.
Can I cancel if my whole trip gets disrupted?
Yes, free of charge more than 12 hours before pickup, refunded in full — there's no cost to cancelling and rebooking once your new plans are confirmed.
Does the price go up during a strike because everyone needs transport?
No — there's no surge pricing. The price you agreed at booking is the price you pay.
