Arriving at Arlanda

What Happens If My Flight to Arlanda Is Delayed?

Flights run late often enough that it's worth knowing, before you book, exactly what happens to your pickup when yours does. "We track your flight" is a phrase every airport transfer service uses — this guide explains, plainly, what that actually means operationally, and what to expect from a short delay through to a diverted flight.

The short version: your driver's pickup time is built around your flight's real, live status, not the timetable you booked against, and the fixed price you agreed doesn't move because the flight did.

How the tracking actually works

When you book, you add your flight number instead of guessing a pickup time yourself. From that point, we follow the flight's live status through to landing — its estimated arrival time, not the number printed on the original schedule.

Your driver's pickup is generated from that live estimate and moves automatically as the estimate changes, right up until you land. You don't fill in a revised time, message anyone, or check anything yourself — the adjustment happens on our side.

A short delay versus a long one

For a delay of an hour or two, this is invisible from your side: the driver's arrival simply shifts to match, and your 90-minute driver-details message goes out relative to the new estimated time rather than the old one. The 60 minutes of free waiting time on arrival starts counting from when the flight actually lands, so a short delay doesn't quietly eat into it.

For a longer delay — several hours, or a flight that ends up landing the next day — our team adjusts the booking around the new arrival rather than leaving it to catch you out. And because cancellation is free up to 12 hours before pickup, you're not locked into a booking if your plans move further than that in the meantime.

What about a diverted or cancelled flight?

A genuine diversion or cancellation is rarer, and it's the one case that's worth a message rather than leaving to automatic tracking — get in touch through the number in your booking confirmation and we'll work out the pickup around what actually happened, whether that's a new arrival time, a different day, or cancelling the transfer under the free-cancellation terms if it's no longer needed.

If a diversion lands you somewhere outside Arlanda, Stockholm or Uppsala, say so as early as you can — that's outside our service area, so the sooner we know, the more options there are for sorting out the original booking.

Questions people ask before booking

Does the fixed price change if my flight is delayed?

No. The price you agree when you book is the price you pay, however the flight's timing shifts — delay tracking only changes when the driver arrives, not what the trip costs.

What if my flight lands hours early instead of late?

The same tracking applies — your pickup time moves earlier to match a genuinely early landing, within the bounds of reasonable notice for the driver.

Do I need to update you myself when my flight is delayed?

No. Once your flight number is on the booking, the adjustment to your driver's pickup happens automatically from live flight data — you don't need to contact anyone for a normal delay.

Does the 60 minutes of free waiting time start from the scheduled landing or the actual one?

From the actual landing time. A delay doesn't shorten your free waiting window — it starts counting from when your flight genuinely arrives.

What happens if my flight is cancelled outright?

Message us through your booking confirmation as soon as you know. We'll work out the right option for the booking, including cancelling it under the free-cancellation terms if the trip's no longer happening.

My flight has diverted to an airport outside Sweden's Stockholm region — can you still pick me up?

Our service area covers Arlanda, Stockholm and Uppsala. If a diversion takes you outside that area, contact us as early as possible so we can sort out the original booking.
