Two Flights, One Car: Meeting a Travel Companion at Arlanda

Travelling separately and meeting at Arlanda before heading on together is common enough — different departure cities, different airlines, a connection through the same hub at slightly different times. Sharing one car from there makes sense once you're both through, and it's a straightforward thing to book correctly as long as you know which flight to book the transfer against.

Book against the later flight
A single transfer booking tracks one flight, so book it against whichever of the two flights lands later — that's the one that actually determines when you're both ready to leave. Booking against the earlier flight would mean the pickup is timed for someone who then has to wait around anyway for their travel companion.
Where the first person waits
Whoever lands first should plan to wait inside the arrivals hall, near a landmark that's easy to describe, rather than heading straight to the pickup point set for the later flight — the driver won't be tracking the earlier flight, so there's no reason to rush to a meeting point that isn't relevant yet.
Once the second traveller is through and you're together, head to the pickup point as normal — the driver's name, phone number and licence plate, sent before pickup, are all set against the later flight's landing.
If the later flight is delayed
Because the pickup is tracked against the later flight, a delay on that one shifts the pickup time automatically — nothing to arrange. The person who landed earlier simply has a longer wait inside the terminal, which is a more comfortable place to wait than outside regardless.
If the delay is significant and you'd rather the first traveller isn't waiting indefinitely, that's worth discussing between yourselves rather than something the transfer booking manages — the booking itself just follows whichever flight it's set to track.
