If your puppy needs a document or physical check on arrival, that happens as part of the border process, before you reach the general arrivals hall where a transfer driver would normally meet you. Build a little slack into your plans for this — it's not usually long, but it isn't instant either, and it happens before anything else.

Once you and the puppy are through, the rest of your arrival looks like anyone else's: find your driver, load up, go.

Mention the puppy in your booking notes — a crate, a small dog travelling loose on a lap with a harness, whatever the arrangement is. We'd rather know in advance and send a car set up for it than have it come up for the first time at the kerb.
