Booking Both Directions: Out to Arlanda and Back Home
Updated 3 min read
Sorting transport for both legs of a trip — out to Arlanda for your flight, and back again once you land at the other end weeks later — is a common enough thing to want to do in one go. It's worth knowing upfront that this works as two separate bookings, not one combined return, and there's a good reason for that.

Why it's two bookings, not one
Your outbound trip has a fixed date and time you're choosing yourself, since you're heading to catch a flight. Your return trip depends on a flight that lands later — its number, its actual arrival time — which is exactly the kind of thing tracking exists to follow. The two legs are fundamentally different kinds of booking, which is why they're set up and priced separately, each shown its own fixed price before you pay.
It also means each leg has its own cancellation window, worked out from its own pickup time — useful if your return date shifts independently of your outbound one, which it often does.
Setting up the outbound leg
For getting to Arlanda, choose your departure time with enough buffer for check-in and security, and give us your outbound flight number anyway — even though the pickup time itself doesn't shift automatically for a departure, having the flight number lets us help if your flight is cancelled or moved.
Setting up the return leg
For coming home, give us your return flight number when you book it, and your pickup time will follow that flight's actual landing — earlier or later, automatically, the same as any arrival. If you don't know the exact return flight yet when you book the outbound leg, that's fine; book the return separately once you do, or closer to the date.
Keeping both bookings straight
Because they're separate bookings, you'll get separate confirmations, each with its own booking reference — worth keeping both handy, particularly if your trip spans several weeks and the details of one might slip your mind by the time the other rolls around. If anything about either leg needs checking or changing closer to the date, quote the specific reference for the leg you mean, since the two are tracked independently on our side too.
If your overall trip changes shape entirely — a different return date, an extra stop added — it's usually easier to update or cancel the relevant leg directly than to try to explain a whole revised itinerary; each booking only needs to know about its own trip.

Questions people ask before booking
Can I book both directions in one transaction?
Each leg is booked and priced separately, since they're different kinds of trip — a fixed departure time going out, and a flight-tracked arrival coming back. You can book them one after another if you know both dates.
What if I don't know my return flight yet?
Book the outbound leg now and add the return separately once you know the details, or closer to your travel date.
Do both legs have the same cancellation window?
Each leg has its own cancellation window measured from its own pickup time, so changing or cancelling one doesn't affect the other.
Does the pickup time for my outbound flight change automatically?
No — for a trip to the airport, the time is the one you set. Give us the flight number anyway so we can help if your flight is cancelled or rescheduled.
Will my return pickup follow my actual landing time?
Yes — the same as any arrival, your pickup time follows your flight's actual landing, moving earlier or later as needed.
