Adding a Stop on the Way: What's Possible
Updated 4 min read
Not every trip is a clean line between two points. Sometimes you need to collect a family member from a different address, swing by to pick up a set of keys, or drop someone off before continuing to your own destination — and it's worth knowing how that fits into a fixed-price booking before you assume it's automatically included.
The short answer: a booking is one pickup address and one drop-off address, priced for that route. We don't sell stops in the middle of a trip. What you can do is plan the journey as separate legs, each with its own fixed price, and that usually works out cleaner anyway. Here's how to do that properly.

The fixed price is built around the route you book
Your price is calculated from the exact pickup and drop-off addresses on your booking, not a generic estimate. That's what lets it be fixed: the route is known before you pay, so the number can't move afterwards. A stop partway through would change the route, add waiting time nobody can predict, and turn a known trip into an open-ended one — which is exactly what a fixed price is designed to avoid.
So a booking doesn't have a stop built into it, and it isn't something to request from the back seat once the trip is under way. The driver is working to the route you booked, and the price you paid is for that route.
The straightforward way: book two legs
If your journey has a genuine second address — collecting a person, picking something up, dropping someone off — book it as two separate trips. Leg one runs from your pickup to the second address; leg two runs from there to your final destination, timed for when you'll actually be ready. Each has its own fixed price shown before you pay, its own driver details and its own free cancellation up to 12 hours before pickup.
Two legs also protect you from the thing that goes wrong most often with an improvised stop: the errand taking longer than planned. With a separate second booking, the key handover that runs twenty minutes over doesn't eat into anyone else's trip — the second car is booked for a time you chose, and it comes with the usual waiting time at pickup.
When a second address is really the destination
Often the simplest answer is to look at the trip differently. If you're collecting keys from a letting agent and then walking to the flat, the agent's office is your destination. If a relative lives near the person you're meeting, it may be easier for them to come to you. Before booking two legs, ask whether one of the addresses can simply become the end of the trip.
If you're genuinely unsure how to structure it, contact us before you book and describe what you're trying to do. We'll tell you honestly how to book it — which will be as one or more point-to-point trips, not a single trip with a stop added.
Travelling as a group from two addresses
The same logic applies when two people are setting off from different places. Rather than one car collecting both, each person books a car from their own address, or one person travels to the other first and the pair book a single trip from there. It can feel less efficient on paper, but each booking is priced, timed and tracked on its own terms, and nobody is left waiting at a kerb because the first pickup ran late.

Questions people ask before booking
Can I add a stop to my trip after I've already booked it?
Not as a stop within the same trip. If you need to visit a second address, book a separate trip for that leg. To change the address on an existing booking, contact us — we re-quote the new route, and you pay or are refunded the difference.
Can I ask the driver to stop briefly on the way?
Please don't plan on it. The trip is booked and priced as one pickup and one drop-off, and the driver works to that route. If you need to be somewhere else first, book that as its own leg.
How do I book a trip where I collect someone on the way?
Book two trips: one from your address to theirs, and one from theirs to the destination. Or have each of you book from your own address, if that's simpler.
Does booking two legs cost more than one trip?
Each leg has its own fixed price, shown before you pay, based on its own route. Adding them together is the honest cost of the journey you're actually making.
Is each leg still a fixed price with free cancellation?
Yes — every booking is a fixed price for its route, with free cancellation more than 12 hours before its pickup.
