Changes That Change the Price: Adding Passengers, Bags or a Child Seat
Updated 3 min read
The price shown before you pay is fixed for what you actually booked — a specific vehicle category, a specific route, specific extras. Change one of those inputs after booking, and the price can genuinely move, because you're now asking for something different to what was quoted. Leave the trip itself unchanged, and nothing about the price moves either.
Knowing which edits fall into which group means you're never surprised either way — by a price that changes when you expected it to hold, or by a hesitation to make a change that costs nothing at all.

Edits that can change the price
In each case, the reason is the same: the fixed price you were quoted was for a specific set of things, and one of those things has genuinely changed. We re-quote the difference and you're told the new figure before it's charged — never adjusted after the fact without your knowledge.
- Adding a child seat request that wasn't in the original booking
- Needing a bigger vehicle category because passengers or luggage grew beyond the original count
- Changing the pickup or drop-off address to a different route
Edits that never change the price
These are all details about the same trip you already booked, not a different trip. Add your flight number the day before departure, or a note about which entrance to use the morning of — none of it reopens the price.
- Adding or updating your flight number
- Editing the notes field — a door code, a landmark, an oversized item you're now confirming fits
- Changing the pickup time on the same day and route, subject to a car being available
How the difference is actually handled
If a change means the new price is higher, you pay the difference before it's confirmed — never a surprise charge after the ride. If it's lower — say you drop to a smaller category — the difference is refunded to the same payment method. Either way, you see the new figure and agree to it before anything changes on your booking.
The easiest way to avoid a mid-trip price change
If you already expect extra bags, an extra passenger or a child seat, the simplest route is to book the right category from the start rather than adjust later — it's one less step, and it means the price shown at booking is already the final one. Where you genuinely can't know in advance, changing it later is straightforward; it just isn't free if what you're asking for has genuinely grown.

Questions people ask before booking
Does adding a flight number after booking change the price?
No. The flight number is used for tracking your arrival — it has no effect on the fixed price you were quoted.
I need a bigger car than I originally booked — what happens to the price?
We re-quote for the larger category. If the new price is higher, you pay the difference before the change is confirmed; you always see the figure before it's charged.
Can I add a child seat after I've already booked?
Yes, contact us to add it. It changes the price to reflect the seat, shown to you before you pay the difference.
Does editing the notes field cost anything?
No — notes are details about the trip you already booked, not a change to what's being provided, so they never affect the price.
What if the price goes down after a change, like moving to a smaller car?
The difference is refunded to the payment method you used, the same way an increase is charged to it.
