Booking an Airport Ride Months in Advance
Updated 3 min read
Some travellers plan a long way out — a summer holiday booked in winter, a family visit locked in the moment flights go on sale. Booking your transfer that far ahead is entirely possible, and it's worth understanding what a booking that far out actually locks in, and what free cancellation means if anything changes between now and then.

How far ahead you can book
You can book as far in advance as you have a specific date, route and — for a flight-linked trip — ideally a flight number, though that can be added later if you don't have it yet. There's no fixed cutoff stopping you from booking months out; the booking form works the same whether your pickup is tomorrow or next summer.
What a booking made now actually fixes
The price you're quoted and pay at the time of booking is the price for that trip — the vehicle category, the route, and whatever extras you've added. That figure doesn't move because published prices on the site change between now and your travel date; it's fixed at the point you pay, exactly as shown on the receipt you're sent.
If your plans change before the date arrives
This is where booking early pays off rather than creating risk: free cancellation applies more than 12 hours before your pickup, refunded in full. Whether you cancel the week after booking or the week before travel, the same rule applies as long as it's outside that final 12-hour window. There's no reason to hold off booking early out of worry that plans might shift — cancelling and rebooking later costs nothing as long as it's done with enough notice.
Keeping a far-out booking accurate
The one thing worth revisiting as your date gets closer is the detail, not the booking itself — add your flight number once you have it, update the notes if your luggage or passenger count changes, and double-check the address is still right if plans shifted along the way. None of that requires cancelling and starting over; see the guide on changing a booking for what can be edited directly.
Why planners often prefer booking early
Beyond simply having it off the to-do list, booking early means the fixed price is settled well before a busy travel season, and there's no last-minute scramble competing with everyone else booking the same week. For a summer trip especially, arranging the transfer alongside the flights and accommodation, rather than as an afterthought closer to the date, tends to make the whole trip feel more organised from the start.

Questions people ask before booking
Is there a limit to how far ahead I can book?
No fixed cutoff — you can book as far out as you have a specific date and route in mind, months ahead if that's when your plans are set.
If prices change on the website before my trip, does my price change too?
No — the price you're quoted and pay at booking is fixed for that trip, regardless of what published prices do afterwards.
Can I cancel a booking made months ago if my plans change?
Yes — free cancellation applies more than 12 hours before pickup, refunded in full, whether you booked yesterday or months ago.
Should I wait to book until closer to my travel date?
There's no need — booking early locks in your price and free cancellation still protects you if anything changes, so there's little downside to booking as soon as your plans are set.
What if I don't have my flight number yet when booking months ahead?
Book without it and add it once you have it, well before your travel date. See the guide on booking without a flight number for how that works.
