Booked Through a Travel Site? How That Differs from Booking Direct
Updated 3 min read
Plenty of travellers arrange their transfer as part of a wider booking — a hotel package, a travel agent's itinerary, an online travel platform bundling it with a flight or a stay. If that's how you booked, it's worth understanding what that changes, without naming or judging any particular platform.

Who's actually responsible for what
When your transfer is arranged through a partner — a hotel, an agent, a booking platform — that partner's own booking, payment and cancellation terms govern the arrangement you made with them. If we perform the trip itself, we're still responsible for delivering it: the car showing up, the flight being tracked, the driver being a licensed professional. But changes, refunds and cancellations for that booking route through the partner first, not us directly.
What stays the same regardless of how you booked
Whoever you booked through, the actual trip — if performed by us — carries the same guarantees: flight tracking, a fixed price for the vehicle, driver details sent before pickup, a licensed Swedish taxi operation throughout. The difference isn't in the ride itself, it's in who you contact if something about the arrangement needs changing.
Why booking direct next time is simpler
The main practical benefit of booking with us directly isn't about the ride quality, which doesn't change — it's about having one point of contact for the whole thing, from booking through to any change, cancellation or question, without needing to go through a third party's own support process first. See the guide on booking direct after a partner trip for a fuller look at making that switch.
If you're not sure who to contact
Check the confirmation you received when you first booked — it will tell you whose terms and contact details apply. If you genuinely can't tell and want to know whether we performed your trip, contact our support with whatever details you have; we can usually confirm from the pickup time and route.
What this means for your next trip
None of this is a criticism of booking through a partner — for many travellers, bundling a transfer with a flight or hotel is genuinely convenient, and it remains a perfectly reasonable way to arrange one. It's simply worth knowing, before you need to change or query anything, whose terms actually apply to that specific booking, so you're not caught out contacting the wrong side of the arrangement when something needs sorting.

Questions people ask before booking
Who do I contact to change a booking made through a travel platform?
The platform or agency you booked through — their terms govern changes and cancellations for that booking, even if we performed the actual trip.
Is the ride itself different if I booked through a partner instead of direct?
No — the same guarantees apply: flight tracking, a fixed price, driver details before pickup, and a licensed Swedish taxi. The difference is only in who handles changes and refunds.
How do I know if Förare actually performed my transfer?
Contact our support with your trip details — we can usually confirm from the pickup time, route and driver information.
Is it worth booking direct next time?
Many travellers prefer it for the simplicity of one point of contact throughout. See the guide on booking direct after a partner trip for more detail.
Can I get a refund from Förare directly if I booked through a partner?
Refunds for a partner booking are handled through that partner's own terms, since that's who you contracted with for the booking itself.
