Booking Two Cars for the Same Flight
Updated 3 min read
Once a group grows past what our largest single category comfortably carries, the answer isn't to squeeze everyone and everything in — it's two bookings against the same flight, timed to arrive together rather than one car showing up and the other left waiting.
On this page
Book both as separate bookings, same flight number
Each car is its own booking, but enter the same flight number on both. That means each car's pickup independently follows the actual landing time of your shared flight — if it's delayed, both bookings move together automatically, not just one of them.
Split the group sensibly
Decide who's in which car before you book, based on luggage as much as headcount — if one car is carrying most of the heavy bags, it may need a larger category than the other. See the guide on choosing a vehicle category for how the seat and luggage budgets work across Standard, SUV/XL and Minibus, so each car is booked for what it's actually carrying rather than split evenly by people alone.
Having one lead contact per car
Each booking has its own contact number, which is where that car's driver details are sent. Put a different lead passenger's number on each of the two bookings, so each group knows who to look for and can reach their own driver directly — rather than one person managing both sets of driver details and relaying them to the other car's passengers under time pressure.
Meeting up after landing
Because both bookings track the same flight, both pickups are timed to your actual arrival rather than a fixed clock time set in advance — which means the two cars are working from the same real information, even if they don't literally arrive at the exact same minute. Agree a meeting point for the group before you land, in case the two cars end up a few minutes apart.
If the group needs to book at different times
It's fine if the two bookings aren't made in the same sitting — one person can book the first car today and someone else book the second a few days later, as long as both carry the same flight number and roughly the same pickup point. What matters for the pickups to stay coordinated is the flight number on each, not when each booking itself was actually made.

Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to book two separate cars if my group is bigger than one vehicle?
Yes — each car is its own booking. Use the same flight number on both so each pickup independently follows the actual landing time.
Will both cars know to wait for a delayed flight?
Yes, as long as the same flight number is entered on both bookings — each one tracks the flight independently and the pickup time follows the real landing.
How should we split luggage and passengers between the two cars?
Base it on each car's actual luggage budget, not just an even passenger split — see the guide on choosing a vehicle category for the seat and luggage limits per category.
Should both bookings use the same contact phone number?
It's usually clearer to use a different lead passenger's number for each booking, so each group receives their own driver's details directly.
Will the two cars arrive at exactly the same time?
Not necessarily to the minute, since they're separate bookings, but both track the same flight and adjust to its actual landing — agree a meeting point in case they're a few minutes apart.
