Comparing Airport Transfer Quotes Fairly: A Checklist
Updated 3 min read
When you're looking at more than one quote for the same airport transfer, the headline number often isn't telling you the whole story — one quote might be per person, another per car; one might include VAT clearly, another leave you to work it out. This is a neutral checklist for comparing fairly, without naming or ranking any specific provider.

Per car, or per person?
This is the single biggest source of confusion. A quote that looks lower can turn out higher once you multiply it by every passenger, if that's how it's structured. Check explicitly whether the figure you're looking at is for the whole vehicle or per head before comparing it to anything else.
Is VAT included in the number you're looking at?
A price shown before tax looks smaller than one that already includes it, even if the final amount ends up identical. Check whether VAT is included in the figure quoted, and at what rate, so you're comparing the actual amount you'd pay rather than a pre-tax figure against a post-tax one.
What's actually included in the fare
Two quotes that look similar on the headline number can differ substantially once these are accounted for — a lower fare with a short free-waiting window and a luggage surcharge can end up costing more in practice than a higher one that includes everything.
- Waiting time — is any included free, and how much, before extra charges start
- Fees for airport access, congestion charges, or other route-specific costs
- Luggage — is there a limit, and does exceeding it cost extra
- A cancellation policy — how close to pickup can you cancel and get a refund, and how much of one
What we can tell you about our own quote
Our fixed price is shown before you book, for the whole car, with 6% VAT included, no terminal fee, no night surcharge and no surge pricing. Waiting time is free on every pickup, and free cancellation applies more than 12 hours before pickup. That's the full picture on our side — apply the same checklist to any other quote you're weighing it against.
Using the checklist in practice
The point of going through these questions isn't to make comparing quotes feel like an audit — it's to make sure the number you're actually weighing up is the number you'd actually pay, not a headline figure with the real cost hidden in the terms underneath it. A couple of minutes spent checking these points before you book usually tells you more about the real difference between two providers than the headline price ever will on its own.

Questions people ask before booking
Why do two transfer quotes for the same route look so different?
Often because they're structured differently — per person versus per car, VAT included versus excluded, or different amounts of free waiting time built in. Check the structure before comparing the number.
Is a lower headline price always the better deal?
Not necessarily — check what's included, like waiting time, luggage limits and cancellation terms, since a lower fare with fewer inclusions can cost more in the end.
Does Förare's price include VAT?
Yes — the fixed price shown before you book includes 6% VAT, for the whole car.
How much free waiting time is included in your price?
Free waiting is included on every pickup, counted from when your driver confirms arrival — see /terms for the full detail.
Can I cancel if I find a better option after booking?
Yes — free cancellation applies more than 12 hours before pickup, refunded in full.
