Landing at Arlanda on a red-eye or a delayed evening flight often means arriving well after most of the city has gone to bed. If you've used a metered taxi before, you might expect that timing to cost more — many meters step up their rate after a certain hour or on weekends. Förare's price doesn't work that way.
Here's what actually happens to the price when your pickup falls in the middle of the night, and why it's the same formula whatever the clock says.

The price formula doesn't have a time-of-day input
The fixed price is built from the vehicle category, the route distance and the expected journey time — nothing in that formula asks what hour it is or which day of the week it falls on. A 03:00 pickup for a given route prices exactly the same as a 15:00 pickup for the same route, because the calculation genuinely doesn't treat them differently.
Why some meters do add a night rate, and why ours doesn't
A metered taxi can reasonably justify a night or weekend uplift as part of how that operator has chosen to set its rates — it's a legitimate pricing choice within Swedish taxi rules, just not the one we've made. Förare's price is agreed and shown before you book, for the whole car, and it doesn't have a mechanism for adjusting itself based on the time you land, whatever hour that turns out to be.
What this means for a late or early flight
- The price you see when you book a 03:00 arrival is the final price — nothing is added once the clock passes midnight.
- A delayed flight that lands well after its scheduled time doesn't trigger a different rate either, since your pickup time follows the actual landing and the fare was already fixed when you booked.
- Booking a genuinely late or early pickup doesn't require anything different from you — the same booking flow, the same flight tracking, the same fixed price.
Why this is worth knowing before you book
Knowing the time of pickup doesn't change the price means you can book a very early or very late flight without a second calculation — choose the vehicle category that fits your group and luggage, see the fixed price, and pay, exactly as you would for a mid-afternoon pickup. There's no separate 'night pricing' step to think through at all.

Does a late-night pickup from Arlanda cost more than a daytime one?
No — the price is calculated from the vehicle category, distance and expected time, with no separate rate for the hour or day, so a night pickup is priced the same way as a daytime one.
Is there a weekend surcharge either?
No. The same formula applies regardless of day of the week — there's no weekend multiplier added to the price.
My flight landed very late after a delay — does that change the price?
No, the price was fixed when you booked and doesn't change afterward. Your pickup time simply follows your actual landing, whatever time that ends up being.
Do I need to book differently for a very early or very late pickup?
No — the booking flow, flight tracking and fixed price all work the same way regardless of the hour.
Why do some other taxi services charge more at night?
Individual operators set their own rates under Sweden's deregulated taxi pricing, and a night uplift is one choice some make. It isn't part of how our fixed price is built.
Do I need to book a night pickup any differently?
