Free Waiting on Arrival: When the Clock Starts

Free waiting counts from the moment your driver confirms they've arrived at the pickup point — not from your booked pickup time, not from touchdown, and not from when you walk out of the terminal. Your driver can't confirm arrival before your pickup time, so the window never starts early and never eats into time you haven't reached yet.

That distinction matters because it removes the two things travellers usually worry about: being charged for a driver who showed up but you weren't ready, and losing waiting time to a delay that was never yours to begin with.

On an airport pickup, your booked pickup time isn't fixed to the schedule printed on your ticket — it follows your flight's actual landing. We track the flight live, so if it lands later than planned, the pickup time moves with it, and your driver arrives against the real time, not the original one.

The practical effect is that the passport queue and the wait at baggage claim after landing don't quietly use up your free waiting window before you've even reached the arrivals hall. The window is there for what happens after you're through, not before.

If it's clear you're going to need more time than the window gives you — a slow bag carousel, a border check running long, anything unexpected — the right move is simply to tell your driver. You'll have their phone number sent to you before pickup, and calling or messaging is always the first step, not a last resort.
