What a Fixed Price Doesn't Cover: The Honest Limits
Updated 3 min read
A fixed price sounds simple, and mostly it is — but it's a promise about a defined trip: this route, this vehicle category, this amount of luggage. It's worth knowing where that promise ends, not because the edges are punishing, but because understanding them means nothing catches you off guard.
None of what follows is a list of hidden fees. It's an honest account of the handful of situations where the trip you take differs enough from the trip you booked that something needs to change — and what actually happens in each case.
A changed pickup or drop-off address
The fixed price is built from the exact route you booked — the specific pickup and drop-off addresses. If either one changes, the trip is genuinely a different trip, and the price needs to reflect the new route rather than the old one. The fix here is simple: update your booking, or tell us as soon as you know, and we requote before anything is finalised.
More people or luggage than the vehicle category holds
Every vehicle category has a passenger count and a luggage budget it's built for. If a bag or a person turns up that pushes you past what your booked category can genuinely carry, the honest answer isn't to squeeze it in — it's to move to a category with room, which does mean a different price than the one you booked.
This is the one edge case worth flagging in advance rather than discovering at the kerb: mention extra luggage in your booking notes, or contact us as soon as you know about it, and we sort out the right car before you're standing there with it.
Waiting beyond the free window
Every pickup includes a free waiting window, counted from your driver's confirmed arrival. It's generous enough to absorb a normal delay — a slow queue, a late flight already accounted for by tracking — but it isn't unlimited. If it's clear you'll need longer, the right move is to call or message your driver as soon as you know, so it's a conversation rather than a surprise on either side.
What every Förare booking includes
The fixed price you see before booking is the price on your receipt — 6% VAT included, whole car, not per person.
- Flight tracked — pickup follows your live arrival
- 45 minutes free waiting, from your driver's confirmed arrival
- No terminal fee
- No surge pricing, ever
- Free cancellation up to 12 hours
Questions people ask before booking
Does the fixed price change if I need to change my pickup address?
Yes — the price is built from the specific route you booked, so a changed address means a different route and a requote. Update your booking or tell us as soon as you know.
What if I show up with more luggage than I booked for?
Tell us in your booking notes or as soon as you know, and we move you to a vehicle category with room. It's not treated as a problem, but it can mean a different price than the one you originally booked.
Is there any extra fee if my flight is delayed?
No — flight delays are exactly what flight tracking and the free waiting window exist for. Your pickup time follows the actual landing, so a delay doesn't add anything to your price.
What happens if I need to wait longer than the free window?
Call or message your driver as soon as you know you'll need more time — the earlier we hear from you, the more options there are to work it out together.
Is the fixed price ever higher than what I saw before booking?
Not for the trip you booked — the price shown before payment is what you pay. It only changes if the trip itself changes: a different route, a different vehicle category.
