Free Cancellation: Edge Cases Explained
Updated 3 min read
Free cancellation up to 12 hours before pickup, refunded in full, is easy to state and mostly easy to use. The questions come at the edges: which 12 hours if you booked from a different time zone, what happens if your flight time changes rather than the trip being cancelled outright, and how it works if you cancel just one of several cars.
This guide takes each of those cases in turn, against the actual rule.

The rule itself
Cancel more than 12 hours before your pickup time and it's free, refunded in full to the payment method you used. That's the whole rule — no reason needs to be given, and no partial refund or credit is involved. It's a straightforward window measured against one fixed point: your pickup time.
Booking from a different time zone
The 12 hours is measured against your pickup time, which is set in Swedish local time regardless of where you were sitting when you booked. If you're booking from a time zone hours ahead of or behind Sweden, the safest approach is to work out the 12-hour cutoff in Swedish time directly, rather than converting your own local clock on the day and risking a mistake in either direction.
Your flight time changes, but you're not cancelling
A flight moving earlier or later isn't a cancellation question at all — it's a flight-tracking one. On an arrival, we watch the live landing time and your pickup moves with it automatically; on a departure, update the booking with your new flight time as soon as you know. Neither of these touches the cancellation window, because you're not cancelling the trip, you're adjusting the time it happens.
Cancelling one of two or more bookings
If you've booked separate cars — say, for two flights landing at different times, or a group travelling in stages — each booking is its own trip with its own pickup time and its own 12-hour window. Cancelling one doesn't touch the others; each is judged against its own pickup time independently.
Cancelling because your trip is cancelled outright, not rescheduled
If your whole trip falls through — a conference cancelled, a visa refused, a plan that simply doesn't happen — the same 12-hour rule applies regardless of the reason. There's no separate process for a cancelled trip versus a rescheduled one; it's the same straightforward window either way.

Questions people ask before booking
Is the 12-hour cancellation window measured in my time zone or Sweden's?
Against your pickup time in Swedish local time. If you're booking from elsewhere, work out the cutoff in Swedish time to avoid a mismatch with your own clock.
If my flight time changes, does that count as a cancellation?
No. A flight time change is handled through flight tracking or updating your booking, not through cancellation — your pickup time adjusts, and the cancellation window isn't affected.
I booked two cars for two flights — can I cancel just one?
Yes. Each booking has its own pickup time and its own 12-hour cancellation window, judged independently of any other booking you've made.
What happens if I cancel less than 12 hours before pickup?
The 12-hour window is what makes a cancellation free and fully refunded. Outside it, contact us directly and explain your situation — we look at each case rather than applying a blanket rule.
Do I need to give a reason to cancel for free?
No. Cancel more than 12 hours before pickup and it's refunded in full, no reason required.
