Why We Ask for Your Flight Number
Updated 3 min read
Of all the fields on a booking form, the flight number is the one that seems least connected to the ride itself — you're booking a car, not checking in for a plane. It's worth explaining plainly what it actually does, because it's doing real, continuous work between the moment you book and the moment you land.
This guide explains what happens once your flight number is on file, and why it changes something concrete about your pickup.

It's how your pickup follows the real landing time
Once your flight number is on your booking, we watch its live arrival status rather than relying on the schedule printed when you bought your ticket. If your flight lands later — or earlier — than planned, your pickup time moves with it automatically, at no charge and without you needing to contact anyone.
That's the entire point of asking for it: a printed schedule is a plan, not a guarantee, and flights land early or late often enough that pinning your pickup to the schedule alone would mean either a driver waiting for a flight that hasn't landed, or you arriving to find no one there yet.
What this means for the free waiting window
Because your pickup time follows the actual landing, the free waiting window doesn't start counting down while you're still in the air or working through passport control after a delay. The clock only starts once your driver confirms arrival at the pickup point, against the real landing time — not the one printed on your original ticket.
What if the flight number changes
If you rebook onto a different flight, update the booking with the new flight number as soon as you know — that's what keeps tracking accurate, since it's the number, not the airline or route, that we're watching against live arrival data.
What it doesn't affect
Giving us your flight number changes nothing about the price or the route — it only affects the timing. The fixed price is calculated from your addresses and vehicle category, entirely separate from whichever flight brings you to Arlanda.
It also isn't used for anything beyond tracking your own pickup — it's not shared or used to build a wider travel profile, just checked against live arrival data for the one purpose of getting your pickup time right.
What every Förare booking includes
The fixed price you see before booking is the price on your receipt — 6% VAT included, whole car, not per person.
- Flight tracked — pickup follows your live arrival
- 45 minutes free waiting, from your driver's confirmed arrival
- No terminal fee
- No surge pricing, ever
- Free cancellation up to 12 hours
Questions people ask before booking
What happens if I don't give a flight number?
Without it, your pickup is set against the time you booked rather than a live landing time, so a delayed flight wouldn't automatically move your pickup the way it does when we're tracking you.
Does giving my flight number cost anything extra?
No — flight tracking is included in every airport booking, and adjusting your pickup time to match a delayed or early landing is free.
What if my flight is diverted?
Tell us as soon as you know — the terms cover what happens if a flight is cancelled or diverted by the airline, and we work it out with you directly rather than applying a rigid rule.
Do you need my flight number for a departure booking too?
It's useful even then — if your outbound flight is cancelled or moved, having the number lets us help you rearrange your pickup around the new plan.
Where does the live flight information come from?
From data published by flight-tracking services covering scheduled arrivals and departures, which we check continuously against your booking.
